Reasons for choice, Choice for reason?

I found myself to be quite contradictory when i was talking to people because of two conflicting ideas of my strongest beliefs about motivation an how one achieves what he or she wants. Basically these two ideas form the basis of what makes a person do what one does.

The first idea is that of how strong we have to make reasons for the things we need to do something for us to do well and succeed in it. It is the illustration i described about a guy jumping out of the dug grave? Yes. It is about how much emotion and importance we associate something with what we need to get done.

The conflicting belief on the other hand was that of not having a reason to do something. Success in most cases did not come out of reasons, success comes out of choice. Why did you succeed? Because you chose to. In fact i think to choose, one has more power to do what one needs to get done than to give a reason for doing it, no matter how strong it is.

So effectively, i was teaching people these two different conflicting idealogies!!! It did take sometime before i finally understand how it really works. So here is my revelation!!! n_n

I found out when teaching certain people, when talking to certain people, i'll tell them to associate reasons but for others i teach them the power of choice. Only up to a certain stage of maturity or understanding of life can we start to understand the need for reason and the power of choice. It is not up to the coach to chose which is best for the coachee but it is up to the design of the coachee's make of motivation for the success of each different method. You see, i was not really contradicting myself when i teach these two ideas, because they both work! But different people will need a different method of empowerment. This means that it is up to you to understand which you should be for and against.

Up to now, i will not give anyone the idea of the power of choice in doing something if they had reached a certain understanding of the inner motivations acting upon us. The fact is, for someone to will the power of choice, one must truely understand that reason don't matter. It is in the choice that makes a success.

Note to self: Many readers might not be getting this post very well. But for those that do it will make great changes in their life;)
