I still have lots to learn

Hey people, so sorry about not having posted for a very long time. It has been a great time of hanging out with friends (old and new) and just reflecting and thinking about what my life is all about and what I'm doing with it.

One of the more significant events was with a friend and teacher who reminded me to be aware of my actions and the way i present myself. Thank you Adri for being there and reminding me about who I want to become and how i was doing in that. Well its great to have people like that always there because you can never be fully aware of what you're showing or the kind of person you are from the outside. Yes I'm back on track working hard towards my goals and dreams.

Will update again soon. See you!!!

Passion in its entirety

As alot of you know i go to a number of programs to volunteer helping out. This is not only because i could get the most out of the refreshing of the course that i went through but also to always be in that environment of positivity and motivation and passion. As a result i built lots of strong friendships and attachment to a teams of really amazing people. One of the biggest and more exciting events had been the Empower U program.

Recently we had another Empower U program as well as a "Empower U" for kids... Many were skeptical about how EU would turn out when it was employed on a younger group of children but there was something that changed everything. I remember when i first did my revisit of the program (which was a pre-requisite to become an assist), we did the first EU over a 180 people for a school of primary 5 and 6s and a few other people. It didn't turn out as well as we thought every EU will turn out. One of the reasons why it happened was because it was for a school but up till this week we had never really had a program that was fully for kids 12 and below.

You should have been there to see how amazing this little kids were (no actually how amazing they ARE). I dare say that it was the best program that i ever went to. All the assistants were like in love with these cute little angels. Some of them were just amazing, it was so easy to be their friends and just have fun together with them. And you could feel that they were very accepting of each other and very accepting of all the ideas that Brent (the presenter of the program) were communicating to them.

I was impacted the most at the debrief, where all the assistants and the presenter would sit down at the end of the day to talk about the program and how it went. Brent Williams has been one of my mentors for about 3 years now and he never ceases to amaze me with his perspective of things and how he says what he says to impact and challenge people. He asked one question which totally blew me away and it is was about why we never saw this kind of a team for the program that we did for the teenagers. What i saw was how amazing the participants were but i never saw the big difference in what my team was doing. Thinking back there was a major difference in how the team worked.

It was at that point where i felt the tingle down my spine that this was something very exciting. You see, we cared and loved the little ones more than the big kids, we were more warm and smiley and loving than we were in the normal EU programs, we were in fact more motivated and passionate about the program than ever. The sharing was just so beautiful. Assists started talking about how great and cute children are and how they would want to have lots of children in the future. n_n

Deep down many of us understood why this turned out to be this way. Not because they were the cutest cuddly little things but because our start out point, our framing and our thinking when we started out was to care and care alot. This is passion in its entirety. The team grew stonger more than ever and I'm glad I'm in the team to see this historical moment and its implications.

What implications? This team and this program is developing at an exponential rate spiritually and emotionally. Now that we felt what a great team we could be, we could be this great a team for many other things.

I love EU and YC and the assist team!!!
